Our Services
At West Coast Sedation we understand that some children and adults need extra help feeling comfortable during their dental visits. IV sedation or general anesthesia can provide a safe, effective way to help adults and children receive the dental care they need.
Whether you will receive sedation or general anesthesia depends on multiple factors. Either way we will make sure you are safe and comfortable while receiving the treatment you need.
-
IV sedation or twilight anesthesia is a method of sedation where the patient is in a semi-conscious state and typically unaware of the procedure. The patient remains arousable, but in a relaxed, comfortable state making it tolerable to undergo dental treatment. IV sedation is suitable for patients undergoing dental work where complete unconsciousness is not necessary, but the patient still needs that extra help feeling comfortable throughout the appointment.
-
General anesthesia is when the patient is fully unconscious during the procedure. Medications are given to the patient through an IV line or with inhaled anesthetic gases or both. This method of anesthesia is best for patients that need to be completely still or unaware for the dental procedure.
